Geek Native uses Google Analytics, and we anonymise IP addresses via Google Tag Manager before passing any view data back to Analytics. The site has Pinterest, Amazon, Awin and Skimlinks tracking, and cookies are deployed via Gamerati (an RPG ad network) code powered by Google’s DoubleClick. Geek Native has no access or control over cookies from the latter, but Google enforces strict quality control.
If your code of ethics is supported by ad-blocking technology and requires you to support independent sites with a subscription model, please consider Geek Native’s Patreon.
No part of Geek Native is about selling personal data, but third-party supplied adverts are on the site. Most of these advertising platforms use anonymous data to show the best possible ads to you.
Accuracy
Geek Native’s policy is not to copy and paste press releases, although we will undoubtedly take facts and quotes from them. Each news event covered on the site is looked into to a lesser or greater degree.
Any coverage generated by news events is written up as accurately as possible and comes with the bloggers’ analysis of impact, implications and relationships to previous or other contemporary stories.

Machine Learning and AI content creation
Machine learning-created content such as from Dall-e or Midjourney is a thorny and important topic. Geek Native uses machine learning from everything through spam detection, spellchecking and to art. However, AI-created or assisted art is always disclosed, and the human content creation budget will never be reduced in favour of machine generation.
